WI Articles – Febraury 2018

I dont really want to start with the weather – but it is rather playing tricks on the garden as well as us – however our meetings go on.

Our social/meeting proceeded after a most enjoyable lunch, this has to be mentioned as Maggie never ceases to surprise us – very ably assisted by Marlene. There is of course a structure to a WI meeting which is now probably familiar to those who read The Village Magazine, but also always much to discuss plus outings and events to be booked and planned.

Our speaker was a singer – Paul Weakley singing well known and loved songs of past times evergreen and melodious as ever.

Visitors are always welcome to our group the meetings are held at The Fishbourne Centre on the 3rd Thursday of each month from 1pm – 3.15 with an optional lunch at 12 noon. For further info.tel.Sec.Beryl Reynolds on 774350 or e-mail beryl@fishbourne.plus.com

Wednesday December 13th was our last meeting of 2017 and our annual Christmas party.
On entering the hall everyone was welcomed with mulled wine lovingly made by Miriam.
Benny opened the meeting with her funny rendition of the Twelve Days of Christmas.
Kay organised an interesting quiz which everyone enjoyed, it ended in a tie breaker involving speedy mental maths.
This was followed by an amazing spread of savouries and sweet delights provided by the members and a good time was had by all.
Our next meeting is on Wednesday 17th January, starting at 2 pm. Kerry Jackson from the RSPB is the guest speaker. New members are very welcome.
