Bosham Cricket Club

Village cricket in Bosham has made some positive developments over the last two years in terms of its cricket prowess, stature and involvement with the community and local business.

Our cricket club continues to perform as an important function in the lives of the local inhabitants allowing youngsters to get involved in and often progress young cricketers up through the ranks to first team cricket.

By the end of the summer of 2016, the club had completed its first full season at Home off Delling Lane for over six years. With a focussed and dedicated team of volunteers, this has encouraged villagers, players and supporters to be part of Bosham Cricket Clubs vision for the future. Hard work preparing the ground, the wicket and all other duties imaginable has already seen an improvement in the ground’s overall presentation and how the square has been playing and we hope it will become a long-term partnership to ensure that cricket will be an attraction for the next generation of village cricketers.

Currently playing in Division 8 of the Sussex Invitational League the club managed to maintain its position in the league but more importantly have had an extremely successful season, which has involved our Village community through the watching of home games and the successful fundraising ‘Big-Bash’ event.

We believe that our club provides a valuable service to the community, encouraging young people to learn the life skills that are part and parcel of playing in a team environment.

The development of a pavilion at our home ground has been an ongoing discussion point at committee meetings over recent years and we are delighted to announce that this is moving forward after meetings with local planners, the council and Sussex County Cricket Board. Whilst it had been a hard slog and we are a long way from achieving our goal, we have won over many new supporters and the club are hoping to offer greatly improved facilities that will attract more of & for the community and for younger generations to be involved in cricket for generations to come.

Watch this space for further developments.
